The T20 World Cup 2022 is the international championship of Twenty20 cricket. The event is organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC), in every two years. The first tournament was held in 2007. It is currently scheduled to be held in Australia in October and November 2022. The tournament will be the first to be held entirely in Australia.

The tournament features 16 teams, comprising all 8 teams in the Group stage to compete with each other to be there in the top 4, also the top 4 will be qualified to play amongst the world’s top 8 T20 cricket nations in the Super 12.

After competing in the super 12 the qualified 4 teams will be playing knockout stage involving the four semi-finalists in the semi-final and followed by the ICC T20 WORLD CUP FINAL. 

The ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place in October and November 2022 in Australia. The tournament will be played across 8 different venues, with the final taking place at the historical Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCC).

The tournament will feature 16 teams, where initially 8 teams divided into two groups will compete with each team playing group stage matches. The top two teams from each group will progress to the Super 12s, where they will play four further matches. The top four teams from the Super 12s will then make a step to the semi-finals, with the winners of those semi-final matches meeting in the final.

The 2022 ICC T20 World Cup will be the first edition of the tournament to be held in Australia. Previous editions have been held in South Africa (2007), England (2009), West Indies (2010), Sri Lanka (2012), Bangladesh (2014), India (2016), Pakistan (2018), and India (2020).

As the sport’s governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is responsible for organizing and managing the event. The tournament features ten national teams, each of which plays the others in a round-robin format.

The top two teams from each group progress to the semi-finals, with the winners of those matches meeting in the final.
